Short Update

Sorry I haven't posted in so long..I have been, and am still super sick. I have had mono since last Tuesday and it is being stubborn and NOT going away. I have the WORST sore throat I have ever had and this is awful, but I haven't really eaten anything in almost 3 days because I just cannot swallow! I am hungry though:(

So I have another Dr's appointment in a few hours. I need this to go away!!!

Bikram Kicked My Butt!

I went to Bikram On Thursday for the first time ever, it was a beginners class, but SUPER hard. To make a long, embarrassing story short, I lasted 45 minutes of the 90 minute class. I was feeling very hot (obviously) and nauseous. I had to go outside after I left the studio to get some cool air...and then it happened..I vomited :( It was awful. I was super shaky afterwards and just could not seem to cool down. So I think I will leave the Bikram to people who are a little more experienced than me at yoga :) I did however, find another yoga class in the same studio that caters more to a beginner like me :) I'm going to try out the class on Monday. I just wish I was more flexible, I have absolutely no flexibility at all :(

Did a huge grocery haul at Whole Foods this morning because I was out of everything. I got a ton of organic fruits and veggies, some veggie burgers, which I haven't had in ages, and lotsa Lara bars and some Almond Butter :) I slao got a bottle of Spirulina and got this to try out

I am to list 10 things that make me happy :)

1. My Family...I really don't know where I would be without them, especially my mom.

2. My Job...I love what I do and the people I work with.

3. Cooking..I don't usually come up with my own recipes, but I love searching the internet for healthy things to cook :)

4. Bubble Baths...I try to aim for 4 a week, I have tons of different bubble baths. It also helps me sleep a lot better.

5. Swimming...I forgot until recently ho much I really love swimming and how good it makes me feel after.

6. My friends...they are are always there for me and I love spending time with them :)

7. Coffee..I'm addicted..enough said :)

8. Travelling...I realized how much I loved travelling when I went to England, meeting new people, learning about different cultures. I am so excited to go to Ireland in the Spring!!

9. Autumn...My fave season! I love the chill in the air, the smell, the leaves changing color, Halloween! I love summer too, but Autumn will always be my fave.

10. Shopping..whether it be for clothes or food, I absolutely love it. It's one of my favorite things in the world to do.

Feel Good Day

Blah. But I am still feeling great! I had a great swim this morning and in 1 hour I am attending my first Bikram Yoga class. I gotta tell you, I am a bit nervous! I will post about how it went this evening :)

Work was super slow today, I am so glad to be home, my mom stopped by my work at lunch and we went out for a beautiful lunch :) She's in a super positive mood today, which makes me feel better.

I actually got a pretty decent nights sleep last night :) a whole 8 hours! I NEVER get 8 hours. Amazing how much better you can function on 8 hours rather than the 5 I normally get.

Short and sweet post here, as I need to make a quick snack before yoga and get out my yoga gear :) I took this pic a few mins ago just to show how happy i am feeling today :) well, I guess it's more of a silly pic!

Good evening! I am Super exhausted from work. I have been doing tons of overtime and it's pretty draining. I've been staying at my parents for about 4 days now, just to be with my mom. She is feeling a lot better, but she has her bad moments when she just breaks down :(

I have basically been doing all the cooking since I have been here, which I love! I am trying to eat less meat myself, slowly phasing it out. But for my dad, well he has to have meat with every meal! Tonight was some of this baked tofu

I'm over the initial shock now of my relationship ending, instead of feeling sorry for myself and crying all the time, I exercise instead, mainly swimming. It really, really helps. I have also been doing a lot more yoga. In fact, on Thursday, I was talked into taking a Bikram yoga class with a co worker. This is supposedly a beginners class. At least I hope so!!
Yoga has really been relaxing for me, even though I am still not very good at it! I am one of the least flexible people in the world :) I still love it though, and I'm going o continue until I get better.

I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, I was wondering if there was any yoga I could do in the late evening that would help me to sleep better? The yoga I do now is pretty tough and really makes me break a sweat, so I'm sure that wouldn't work. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

After dinner last night I finally went out and hung out with some friends :) I have been such a hermit for the past week, so it felt super good to just chill with them for awhile. I'll throw in some pics at the end of this post just for the heck of it :)

I'm off to take a nice, long, hot bubble bath and then off to a (hopefully) peaceful slumber for once. I am heading on back to my place tomorrow night, my mom has her sister coming over for 2 weeks while she goes through her treatment.

Bad Week

Hello! I'm still here :)

I had to take a little break from blogging, as I have had one of the worst weeks ever. First off, me and the boyfriend broke up. That was tough. It was very mutual though, but hurt none the less. Then on Tuesday, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer :( Fortunately they caught it early. It hurt me to see her sad though. This is a woman who has stood by my side through everything, never judged me, she is my best friend. So to see her sad and crying was devastating to me.

She is doing and feeling much better now. The cancer is treatable :) Breast cancer does run on her side of the family. Her sister had it and her aunt. I'm just happy that her spirits are up :)

On the food front I have been doing awesome, despite all my troubles. My appetite is bigger than ever :) I have been eating a HUGE bowl of oatmeal for breakfast everyday, tons of fruit and have been cooking a lot. I love cooking, I find that for me it really does relieve my stress. I made this delicious dish yesterday for dinner.

So good :) Tonight is going to be some baked butternut squash, I have been craving it for awhile now.
I have also been going to the pool every morning this week. I feel so good after I swim. It keeps me energized at work all day :)

So I'm off for now, I have to catch up on all your blogs! I missed you guys!!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2010! I hope you all had a great New Years! I had an awesome New Years! This post will be short and sweet, I am heading to the US for 2 days in about 10 mins!!

My pink eye finally cleared up and I got to go to a great New year party thrown by my friend ) It was so much fun!
Eating wise, I've been quite spotty for the past few days. I have to get myself back on a proper eating plan. I was doing so well for a long time..don't wanna mess it up!

I haven't been doing much in the way of exercise either :( But it is a New year, so when I come back, I will be doing yoga again and hitting the swimming pool in the morning!
