Oh happy Day!

Today was just a super good day for many reasons!

First off, at work, I got a promotion..and a raise! That totally made my morning :)
I went out for lunch with a co worker and found a $20 bill on the sidewalk! Totally paid for our lunches! Bonus!

I went to my nutritionist after work, I have gained another 2 pounds..so that's 5 a all together..It was great news to her and to me :)

I came home from work and had some packages waiting for me...The Lovely people at Bora Bora sent me some bars to sample..and so I did..I ripped into the Exotic Coconut Almond,

OMG..sooooo good! It's a little on the sticky side but so delicious. I loved the really distinct coconut flavor, because I am in love with coconut! so 9/10 for this delicious bar!!! I shall try the rest within the next few days :)


Also got a great package from the folks at Naturally More....they sent me..

Almond Butter and Peanut Butter! I cannot wait to try this out :)


It's so unfortunate that the weather here in Vancouver is still so blah :( Chilly and wet. I want summer!!! I really want to do a ton of hiking this summer, and swimming :)


Oh! and I also stopped off at my old workplace..aka..Sephora, because I needed a new foundation, and I got this one

It's new, and it's supposed to be a Primer, Concealer and Foundation all in one. So I'll let you all know how it is after I try it :)

Off to cook some dinner..having a quick dinner, a Boca Burger and some sweet potato fries and a Boost :(

Happy Earth Day!

The weather here was gorgeous today...but cold :( But I am loving all of this sunshine :)

Some positive news, I have gained 3 pounds :) Must be from the Boost ..it's nasty stuff, but I guess it works in helping me get extra calories.

I just finished dinner and I had Quinoa with Chicken and black beans.

Source It was super good. This was my first time trying quinoa and I loved it!

Other than that, not too much else going on, other than me drinking insane amounts of coffee, working, swimming, visiting my mom, catching up on blogs and giving myself a new hairstyle. Kinda just more curls really...Image and video hosting by TinyPic.

I'm just heading off to Whole Foods in a few minutes, I really need some spinach and bananas,I'm out of both ,And I really need a Green Smoothie. Do any Canadians know if you can get Justin's Nut butters here in Vancouver? Or anywhere where you can get pb&co Mighty Maple or The Bees Knees? I can't find these anywhere!!!

Sorry this is such a lame post..I promise a better one tomorrow:)

Long Time No Post

It's been a super busy week. I went to see my new nutritionist on Tuesday, and she pretty much said the same thing, I shouldn't be on a vegetarian diet until I put on some weight! yeesh. So now they have me on Boost Plus

I'm not too fond of it but if it will help, hen I am willing to give it a go.
I am back to working out, doing P90x and swimming :) As long as I am getting extra calories in, it should be alright for me to get some workouts in.

I did my lecture and Q&A on Thursday at my old High School :) It as nerve racking and amazing :) I had such a great time.

I had the ultimate workout the other day...we have a mountain here in Vancouver called Grouse Mountain and there is a hike called the Grouse Grind..it is brutal.

This is what it looks like Image and video hosting by TinyPic..it's rickety wooden stairs all the way up. here is some info on it Length: 2.9 kilometers (1.8 miles)
Elevation Gain: 853 meters (2,800 feet)
- Base: 274 meters above sea level (900 feet)
- Summit: 1,127 meters (3,700 feet)
- Total Stairs: 2,830
Statistics: Annually, over 100,000 people hike the Grind™.
Average Time: On average it takes up to an hour and a half to complete the hike.
For novice hikers, up to two hours is recommended.

Though it's only 1.8 miles, it's a straight up, vertical 1.8 miles..and 2,830 stairs! Took me 1 hour and 44 minutes. I was exhausted at the top. Luckily there is a gondola you can take back down :) I plan on doing it many more times in the summer :)

Yesterday I made a HUGE green monster and froze it overnight, and had Green Monster Ice Cream! It was soooooo good! I will definitely be making this again in the next few days :) Right now I am baking a sweet potato for dinner and I cannot wait because I am starving!

I went shopping after work Thursday and bought a new dress, which I wore out to dinner with friends last night, I'll post a pic at the end of the post :) and I went to Sephora and bought some much un needed makeup. Friday Night With Jamie

Hello!!

I am enjoying a quiet Friday night in watching Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. Love this show, love him. Usually I go out on Friday nights, but tonight I just wanted to stay in and chill out. I made this awesome vegan lasagna for dinner



Ingredients

Natural cooking spray
1 (14-ounce) package firm tofu, drained
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
1 teaspoon garlic granules
Salt and pepper to taste
2 (25-ounce) jars vegan marinara sauce
3 bell peppers, cored, seeded and chopped
12 no-boil dried lasagna noodles

It was absolutely delicious!!

I received a generous package today from Jamie at Global Health .

The weather here is super sunny but super cold :( still only gets to 0 or below at night. I was scraping ice off of my car this morning! I want warm weather!

I went to my nutritionist this afternoon and as I mentioned before, my weight was down 3 pounds in 1 week, well once again, my weight was down another 4 pounds! I have been eating very well, and I have decreased my exercise for over a week. I don't understand. Needless to say, this all has my parents worried, they think I ma not eating and so on..which I am. I just can't figure out what i am doing wrong? Maybe it is that i am still not consuming as many calories as I need to be, it seems as though I am though. Any recommendations on what i should add to my diet?

My nutritionist doesn't think it's good idea for me to go vegetarian while I am recovering, she thinks that I will not be able to consume enough calorie..is this true? I am trying to phase out meat, with the exception of salmon once in awhile.
Right now I am eating 5 smaller(not tiny) meals a day. Maybe that's not a good thing to do while recovering from an ED. I am going to see another nutritionist on Tuesday, so I will see what he has to say :) It's just so frustrating because I thought I was doing good.

Anyways, on to happier stuff! I am so excited about speaking at my old high school this Thursday!!!! very nervous too. I am also getting super excited about my Ireland trip in May!!! I cannot wait :) It will be so good to get away :)

I'm going to watch the Blind Side now..I leave with some crazy, silly pics from the past few days, it was a Spring Fling party!....have a great Friday night all!!

Glorious Saturday!

Good afternoon! My mom woke up this morning feeling so much better :) She even went to the mall with me an hour ago because I needed desperately to get new runners. I'm so happy hat she's feeling better :) Here are the new, fantastic, albeit expensive runners I got

Asics Gel Radience 3 Womens Trainers..in Pink!! Can't wait to try them out :)

We are off to Whole foods soon to get a whole lot of groceries. I decided to answer some of the other questions that were in my Springform, I recently closed it because there were a lot of rude questions and comments :( So here we go

Q. You always seem to have a great tan in a lot of your pics, do you use a self tanner or go to tanning beds? Also, do you tan in the summer or use a sunscreen? Thanks!!!

A. I use self tanners and sometimes get spray tans, not too often though because they are pretty pricey. I NEVER use tanning beds..they are dangerous and very bad for your skin. I ALWAYS use a sunscreen in the summer..SPF 70! I have known far too many people that have gotten skin cancer, my great aunt died from melanoma 7 years ago, so I always protect my skin. I still tan though, even with the SPF 70, basically it just blocks out the harmful rays.

Q. I love the clothes you wear in your pics. Cn you please tell me where you shop? Love your blog btw.

A. Thanks! I mainly shop at Forever 21 and The Gap. But I do order some stuff online through Victoria's Secret because Vancouver doesn't have one. I also love to shop at Aritzia, Bebe and Zara when I have the $$!

Q.You mentioned going to Ireland in May? Are you still planning on going?

A. Yes! I am hoping to leave on May 27th, but it all depends on how my mom is feeling. If she isn't well, I will postpone until she is feeling really well :)

Q. Were you born and raised in Vancouver? I love that city, so pretty.

A. Yes, born and raised here! I love it here. We have everything :)

Q. Do your friends and family know about your blog?

A. Most of them, my closest friends know and my family knows and reads it all the time!

Q. Do you have any siblings?

A. Nope, I am an only child :) I kind of wish I had a brother or sister though.

Exhausted

Hello! sorry for being away so long..I have been saying at my parents for the past 4 days because my mom isn't doing so well right now. As some of you may know, she was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago, and they caught it early on, but the treatments are brutal. She has been fainting on and off for the past several days and getting really bad headaches. She's had 6 migraines in the past 3 days! The doctor said this is quite a normal part of her treatment, but I want to be here with her regardless. She wasn't even able to get out of bed at all today, other than to go to the washroom. So I plan on being here for another few days to cook for her and help her out until she's on her feet again :)

In other news, was contacted by my old high school here in Vancouver, my aunt is best friends with the Female Health teacher, and mentioned my blog and my ED (she asked my permission first..lol) Next week, on Thursday afternoon, they want me to come in and do a lecture on my ED and recovery and also do a Q&A. Ahh, I'm so nervous! I know it's just a class of 13 girls, but still so nervous! they are studying Body Image and Eating Disorders right now. I am so glad to help out though :)

So I'm off to take a nice hot bath, and crawl into my warm, childhood bed :) Sorry for the short post and lack of pics, I am on my parents computer and have no pics here:( I will be updating tomorrow afternoon! I have to do a HUGE grocery shop at Whole Foods, for my parents and for my place.
