Cool

Ahh, the weather today is so much cooler and comfortable! I love it. Still haven't had my ipod turned in :( So I guess I have o buy a new one, and with no job now, that's tough. But I need an ipod! I went to the gym this morning, did my normal 45 mins on the treadmill and usually my ma heart rate is 170, but today it went all the way up to 204! I slowed don till it got back down to 170-175 and then in no time it was right back up to over 200! I wasn't doing anything different, I'm not sick or tired at all, so I don't know why i would be that high? I even tried another treadmill, and the same thing. Any ideas? Is that dangerous?

Dinner last night was another fabulous recipe from the whole foods website..this one was delicious!

Grilled Corn Salad with Green Beans and Tomatoes


Ingredients

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons sherry vinegar
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper
4 ears corn, grilled
1 pound green beans, blanched and cooled
1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1 cup basil leaves, thinly shredded
4 ounces ricotta salata, shaved
Method

Prepare vinaigrette by whisking together mustard, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper. Set aside.

Cut kernels off corn cobs and put in a large bowl. Add beans, tomatoes, onion and basil. Drizzle vinaigrette over and toss to combine. Top with ricotta salata and serve.
Nutrition

Per serving (about 6oz/179g-wt.): 160 calories (90 from fat), 9g total fat, 2.5g saturated fat, 5mg cholesterol, 210mg sodium, 16g total carbohydrate (4g dietary fiber, 4g sugar), 4g protein

My dad gave me some leftover grilled corn from their bbq, so it was perfect in this.


So now I'm off job hunting :( Blah. Then off to my old job to pick up my final pay cheque and my vacation pay. Then to Whole Foods..again. haha. I practically live there.

Bad Day

Ugh..first off, it is 40 degrees out! sooo hot! And this morning I woke up to a lovely e mail from work saying that I have been laid off :( No more job. Now I have to search for a new one. I loved my job at the travel agency :( I booked my trip to Europe through there with my employee discount, and thank goodness that still stands, because I booked it while I was still an employee!! So that's good. Then this morning I went to the gym, did a great workout, got home and realized I left my ipod there in the change room. I called to see if anyone had turned it in, and nope, it wasn't in the change room and no one turned it in :( so now that's gone, and it was only 2 months old!

Enough of the gloom! I did manage a great workout, 45 mins on the treadmill, 30 minutes spinning, gah!! that bike kills my butt!!! Great workout though :) I had a HUGE green smoothie for breakfast, I added cantaloupe this time, good, I highly recommend it! Also used 2 cups spinach, handful of blueberries and some soy milk. Delicious. Lunch was a giant salad with chicken breast, avocado and tons of cherry tomatoes. I love salad! I'm going to make wraps Ala Heather of Health, Happiness and Hope, just cause they are o darn good! I'm seriously going to try to make them as pretty as she does! Mine look no where as good as hers. I went to a friends b day party last night, but left early because I had a bit of a headache, I think due to the extreme heat. I'll be so glad when this heat wave is over :) Thank you all for the compliments on my little place! I really do love it!! It is tiny, but very cozy. I am so thankful that I have no rent to pay or I would be in trouble! Pink!

Hi!! The weather here is soooo hot. almost 100 degrees today..blah. Too hot. I managed to get to the gym though and do 60 mins on the treadmill. Felt so good :) My eating is back on track :) I feel awesome. So I decided to show you a little of where I live, I actually live in my aunt and uncles basement suite (basement apartment as I call it :) They let me live here very cheap and it helps me with my independence and being away from my parents. Also helps that my aunt and uncle are on vacation for the whole summer in Italy !!! They left June 1st and wont be back till September 14th :) So basically I have been using their kitchen to cook, cause it's much bigger than mine, and I've pretty much been doing all my dining up there cause it's so nice :) When I moved in 7 months ao, they let me decorate the basement how I wanted, And they knew that I am obsessed with the color pink. so here it is (no laughing please ;)

And yummy!! it was so good. Kind of a nasty color, but tasted delicious :)
For dinner I had this samlmon/avacodo salad, I used my leftover salmon from the other day..it was pretty darn good.

Serves 4

This easy and quick salad is a great way to use leftover cooked salmon. Serve a spoonful atop a green salad with crispbread or large whole grain crackers.
Ingredients

1 pound wild Alaska salmon fillets or steaks, poached, grilled or broiled, cooled
1 ripe avocado, peeled and cubed
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons capers
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs, such as dill, basil, parsley, tarragon and/or chives
Sea salt and ground black pepper
Lemon wedges for garnish
Method

Break cooked salmon into chunks in a bowl. Gently toss with remaining ingredients. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve with lemon wedges.
There is 30 grams of protein !!!

Thunder and Lightning

That's what we had all day here. Awful :( I had such a blah day, I wish I could kick this eating disorder out to the curb and say "see ya". As I mentioned before, I have really bad days, today was definitely one. I didn't eat till 6 and probably only consumed about 900 calories. Not good. I am so afraid to relapse. Afraid of letting myself down, and my family and friends. Ugh. Sometimes I catch myself counting calories, and wondering how many carbs I am consuming. Carbs are tough for me, they used to be my real "enemy". I do try to eat them though, I managed to eat a pretty good dinner at 7..salmon and white rice, which is something I haven't eaten in years, but I was for some reason really craving it.

Not a great pic, but it was soo good. Tomorrow I am get getting back on track. I can't fall into this Eating disorder trap again. I was looking through my bookmarks on my computer, and when I had my eating disorder full force, I was part of a pro anorexia group online. Ahh, yes. One of those. i was reading some of my posts from back in the day. Pretty sad stuff. I have come so far since then, and I can't go back to that!

So enough of the gloom! I did not manage to find a camera yet again, I think I may have to wait till my next pay cheque. They are so expensive! On the bright side, I went to Superstore today and they began carrying this for the first time!!

This is the first time I have ever seen this in Vancouver! We have very limited Kashi products here. They were also on sale for $3 a box. I bough 2 of them. I'm gonna try a bowl in the morning, I'll tell you what I think of it! The small organic store that i sometimes go to is the only place I could find Synergy drinks, No thy don't sell them anymore :( Whole Foods doesn't even carry them! Right when I was falling in love with them too! The boyfriend is coming down in awhile and we are going to watch some movies, not too sure what yet though. Allo Allo

Today was literally a hell day. I could not find a camera within my budget, my laptop was constantly shutting down on me randomly all day. I was so afraid that my mac book was dying on me too. It seems to work fine now though. So more camera shopping tomorrow, I really need one for my upcoming trip to Europe! I decided to make oats this morning with pumpkin..OMG, this was delicious! kept me full for so long too!! I then when to a killer spin class with my friend. Ahh, those bikes are brutal. My butt was so sore after 45 minutes! I think I might take a yoga class, but I am not flexible in any way. For those who do yoga? Do you have to be very flexible? and what kind of yoga class would you recommend to a beginner?

When I came home from spinning, i made a HUGE green monster, this time I used the Amazing Grass Pomegranate, mango Infusion. This one is my fave so far. It as so delicious. I love this stuff.

My friend was over for dinner, here's what she made, it was a pasta with broccoli that wasn't very good :(

We are supposed to be having some mega hot weather in the next few days...36 degrees!! Ahhh. Looks like a good time to head to the beach!

Annnddd, I dyed my hair blond again! the dark wasn't coming out fast enough and was starting to look really red. So here is a pic from my night out last night with the new hair color

Camera Blues

Good morning all! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. MY best friend just left town, so I spent most of the time with him and all my other friends :) And..My camera decided to quit on me :( I have to go buy a new one tomorrow :( It's a Cybershot and it's only 2 years old, but when I turn it on, the screen just stays white, and it wont take any pics..they all just turn out white :( Crappy. It managed to take 1 pic, and then it did that. I didn't drop it or anything, so it's frustrating.

On to other things, the folks at Amazing Grass sent me a box load of sample goodies, which O should have taken a pic of before my camera dies. Since I haven't gotten around to trying Amazing Grass yet, I was soooo excited !! I tried the Amazing Meal Chocolate Infusion in my green monster yesterday..OMG it was delicious!!! I will definitely be purchasing one of these for sure. I absolutely loved it. I gave my friend a sip, and she thought it was delicious. I also tried the Greensuper food energy bar in Chocolate..YUM. Sooo good! I really love these. I will be purchasing for sure. I also used the cool amazing grass tumbler, I love it ! :) I can't wait to try the rest of the stuff. Thank you Amazing Grass! I felt so great after drinking my smoothie..so energetic!

Yesterday was a super hot day here in Vancouver..almost 90 degrees..ugh. I managed 45 mins on the treadmill though. Needless to say, it was a sweaty workout. I was wondering, do you all do cardio everyday? or do you do 1 day cardio and then maybe weights? I don't know.. I think I might be doing too much cardio. My calfs are really sore and my shins are starting to act up again. I do take days off of working out, but all the other days I incorporate cardio.

It's a cloudy cool day here this morning, which is kinda nice after that heat. It is supposed to get hot again tomorrow though. I made oats for breakfast, I haven't had oats in ages, I think I ate far too much cause now I feel nauseous. Ha ha,. they were good though. Dinner is going to be an Amy's California veggie burger and sweet potato fries. So excited! I love dinner :) I'm off to read your blogs and then head to the pool for a swim. Happy Happy Monday!

It was sooo gorgeous out today! and hot! I'm a little bored right now, so I thought I'd do "20 things about me"

1. My parents are both attorneys
2. I worked at Starbucks for 2 years and I loved it!
3. I have never, ever broken a bone in my body, I prefer to keep it that way
4. I LOVE scary movies..one of my faves is the Ring.it scares me so much, but I continue to watch it all the time.
5. I have met actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers on 2 separate occasions, in 2 different countries..both times in a restaurant! how weird is that? and the 2nd time we met (which was over a year later) he remembered me!!!
6. I love Britney Spears..seriously..ha ha.
7. I love all vegetables except..beets and turnips..ew
8. I have been fortunate to travel a lot..I have been to England (lived there for 5 months for job training!), Ireland, Hawaii, tons of places in the US, and Mexico.
9. Deathly afraid of heights, spiders and deep water.
10. Extremely close to my parents :)
11. Have whole entire Care Bear collection from when I was a kid..still have all of them on a shelf in my apartment!!
12. Have a slight peanut butter/almond butter addiction

14. My favorite holiday is Halloween!! I'm not sure if Halloween is technically a holiday??

It only takes a few things to ruin an evening.

First off, as I mentioned before, I ran out of Maranatha Almond Butter, so I decided to try a new one one. Well I was in Superstore and I saw this

Presidents Choice Blue Menu Just Almonds, Almond Butter. Ugh, nastiest stuff ever! It is sooo sweet!! It claims to have no sugar, just almonds..but it super, duper sweet! Whee as Maranatha isn't sweet at all, at least not to me. This stuff was sickeningly sweet. Made me sick to my stomach. I just cannot finish it. Back to Maranatha for me!

Another thing..I may have to remove my e mail address from here. I got a few e mails, both from the same IP address, mean e mails. Insulting me about my eating disorder and just saying very crude things. It was quite shocking to read. I can't believe people would be that mean :( It was very hurtful. I am proud of myself for how far I have come in 1 year, and they seemed to take that all away with 2 long, mean e mails :( So if you want my e mail for anything..just ask via comments and I will get it to you :)

Yay..it's Saturday!!

Sorry I have been MIA, but my best friend came to town and I was visiting with him all day yesterday. I hope you all have been well!! I've been great. Sunny warm weather and great friends!! what could be better. Lat night my friend stayed over and we made these

Black Bean and Cilantro Quesadillas

Serves 2

These basic quesadillas come together quickly and adapt well to many variations. Add salsa, sautéed onions or peppers and diced red or white onion, if you like. Serve with a green salad for dinner or alone as a hearty after-school snack.
Ingredients

2 (8-inch) flour tortillas
1/4 cup grated Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cooked and drained black beans
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped cilantro
Method

Set a heavy skillet over medium heat. When hot, add a tortilla and warm. Flip tortilla. Sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over tortilla. Lightly cover cheese with half of the beans and cilantro. Top with a second tortilla. Flip and warm on the second side. When beans are hot and cheese is melted, slide quesadilla onto a cutting board and slice into four wedges.
Nutrition

Per serving (1 quesadilla/130g-wt.): 240 calories (70 from fat), 8g total fat, 2.5g saturated fat, 15mg cholesterol, 540mg sodium, 31g total carbohydrate (4g dietary fiber, 1g sugar), 11g protein

you seriously have to try these! They are such a great snack! Yum.

So I noticed that when I do the Shred, there is one exercise I can never do, I mean no matter how many times I try, I just cannot do it, and that is the front lunge. It always hurts the front of my leg, like the muscle is going to pull or something. Ugh. I will master it though! Oh, and I also cannot do a full push up :( Still do the girl push ups. I have very weak arms..ha ha. We also went to see Harry Potter last night!! great movie!

This morning I was up bright and early and did level 2 and 3 of the 30 day shred. I may go for a jog/walk this evening. I can't believe it is almost mid July already. the summer is going so fast :( I'm haivng salmon burgers for dinner tonight, so I am so hyped for that!!!! I love salmon and I don't eat it nearly as much as I should. I love when I get hyped for meals, cause back in the day, I would hide when it was meal time..I would b afraid. I love that I don't really feel that anymore..well sometimes.

Gooood Evening!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day. It was so hot here today! ugh. I just feel like going swimming!!! I did,however, manage to get in a great workout today. 60 minutes on the treadmill and 25 mins of weights. Felt so good. I'm definitely doing level 2 and 3 of the shred tomorrow morning. I had a lovely dinner over at my friends..we had this refreshing salad
Watermelon Salad With Tomatoes and Goat Cheese

This colorful salad makes a great addition to any summer cookout. Try with feta and mint instead of goat cheese and basil, if you like.
Ingredients

2 to 3 cups watermelon in bite-sized chunks, seeds removed
2 small ripe tomatoes, quartered
2 to 3 ounces fresh goat cheese, crumbled
2 tablespoons prepared balsamic vinaigrette dressing
2 to 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Method

On a large platter or individual plates, arrange watermelon, tomatoes and goat cheese. Drizzle with vinaigrette and top with basil.
Nutrition

Per serving (about 5oz/152g-wt.): 100 calories (60 from fat), 6g total fat, 3g saturated fat, 5mg cholesterol, 140mg sodium, 10g total carbohydrate (1g dietary fiber, 7g sugar), 3g protein

SOOO good and very refreshing! we also had some amazing turkey and spinach wraps. Yum.
I also went out and bought 5 more bottles of Synergy! I really love them :) No green monster today though, cause I am out of Almond Breeze, spinach and bananas :(

Tired but Wired

I had another super long day at work. Tomorrow is only a 4 hour day thank god! I got home to get my mail and my cell phone bill was in there, $398!!! I can't believe it! No way it should be that much! ha ha. I have to call them in the morning when I have more energy. I had the most amazing veggie burger for dinner at this vegetarian restaurant here this evening. It had Avocado, hummus, a spicy red pepper sauce and tons of lettuce, tomatoes and also some alfalfa sprouts! It was honestly the best veg burger I have ever had! I got absolutely NO exercise in today..but tomorrow I am hitting up the gym! very excited. And HEATHER!!! I found Synergy!! I only got one bottle, Superfruits, like you recommended, I LOVE IT!! I am going to get more this weekend for sure. So delicious. My boyfriend tried a sip and almost gagged! he does not like anything remotely healthy! ha ha.

I also have my counselling appointment tomorrow, lately my old habits have slowly, but surely been creeping up on me. It scares me hen this happens because I do NOT want to relapse again. I honestly don't think I could do it again. I love this feeling of being healthy, but I don't always feel so strong. I sometimes find myself counting calories and fat. I used to have journals, where I would write don every single calorie and gram of fat I was putting into my body, I seriously have like 20 of these, full. Also in them were how many calories I burned each day and what exercises I was doing and so on. When I think back on it, it's quite scary and sad. I need to continue on this path to healthiness. I used to see food as the enemy, now I try my hardest to see it as fuel. Sorry for the ranting!! ha ha.

Anyhoo, Off to work in the am for fou hours..gym time after!!

The Boyfriend :)

I'm home for a half hour lunch from work right now..it's another long day :( I'm eating a Black Bean Burger that i prepared last night, with Hummus...mmmm. So good. I would like to introduce you all to my boyfriend Cam (now that he gave me pic to put his pic up :) ) I have been with him almost 4 years now. He's my everything. he's been through it all with me, my anorexia, the worst part of it. He never gave up on me. I took this pic last night at Starbucks after I met him after he got off of a long shift of work...haha.

In other news, I see so many of you drink Synergy Drinks..I was wondering if you can get these at Whole Foods? Or if they are even available in Canada? I don't think I've ever seen them. I would really love to try them though! Any review on how they are? best flavor just in case I do find them!! Starting tomorrow I will be taking pics of some of my meals and so on. so excited!! Exhausting Day.

Today was a LONG day. I had to work form 7am to 6pm..ugh. So no workouts today :( But I did eat healthy for the most part. Spelt Flakes and a banana for breakfast, A gigantic salad that I prepared last night. I used a ton of lettuce, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, avocado and some chick peas..it was delicious and very filling. I have yet to eat dinner and it is 8:30! I did make a green monster awhile ago and that is filling me up quite a bit. But I think I'll have another one of those delicious wraps (courtesy of Heather at Health, Happiness and Hope!) I had one yesterday and it was so delicious :) Thanks Heather! I also topped off at Best Buy on my way home and finally got a cord for my camera! Now I can start taking some pics. I took this one of me a few minutes ago..ha ha. My hair is already getting lighter, I washed 3 times already to get the dark coloring out. It's fading nicely :)

I'm officially out of Almond Butter :( So Wednesday I'm going to get some more..I have been using the Maranatha Raw Almond butter for some time now. I think I may be ready to try a new kind. I'm not sure if they all taste the same or not? What is a good brand that you can recommend? Or a really good natural peanut butter? Thanks! Hope you all had a great Monday! Happy Sunny Sunday

The weather here is so nice today! There is an awesome breeze that makes the heat so much more tolerable. Yesterday was almost 100 degrees out! No breeze either. It was pretty bad.
Thanks for the compliments on my hair! But..it is only temporary. I was in the salon with my friend the other day as she was getting her hair darkened, I wondered what i would look like with dark hair and the stylist said she could put a temporary dye in so I could see. If I didn't like it she could take it out right there. But I kinda liked it :) It will be fading in about 1 week. then back to blonde :)


I was up at 7am :( just could not sleep. I went for a 3 mile jog/run before the heat came out. I tried a new cereal for breakfast Nature's Path Spelt Flakes.

They were really good! They are sweetened with fruit juice and honey. Delicious! Shortly after that I made a huge green monster..lotsa organic spinach, soy milk, banana and some POM Juice :)

So yesterday I tried Pilates..I really really want to like Pilates, but every move involves your neck being off of the ground. My neck was sooo sore after that I had to put some heat on it. I must have very weak neck muscles. Is there any exercises that I can do to toughen up my neck muscles? I forgot to mention that I was doing Pilates for the core :)

Dinner tonight is going to be a mega salad that me and my friend are going to put together and some BBQ chicken breasts. I bought a few Clif bars yesterday and boy am I loving them :) so good! Off now to make lunch, I'm going to try a wrap like Heather from Health, Happiness and Hope because they always looks so delicious!!! xoxo

Philosophy

Good Morning! My headache is gone! yay! Unfortunately it was still there when I went to bed, but I woke up at 8am and it was gone. No work today, so I'm going to go for a jog/walk and then come back and do level 3 of the shred. I made turkey chili last night and it was so so good! I will definitely put the recipe up a little later. For dinner tonight I am making a HUGE salad. I'm going to add extra protein by grilling a chicken breast and putting it in.

Now In my other post about what makeup products I use, I was also asked about skincare, which i will tell you now what I use. I'm more into skincare and fragrance than I am makeup. I love bubble baths, body lotions and so on. My fave skincare line is and always has been Philosophy, which you can get a Sephora. Here's what I use.

Philosophy Purity Cleanser.

My fave moisturizer is Philosophy's Hope in A Jar

and lastly, my fave 2 perfumes are by Clean.I love these so much. I got a set for Christmas 2 years ago from my boyfriend and they have lasted me this long. I use them very sparingly.

Warm Cotton

Another day, Another Headache

Yes, I still have this nagging headache :( I went to bed early last night and boy oh boy was my head throbbing. Woke up at 7am and yup, it was still there. I had to go to work for 4 hours with it today too :( that was brutal. It actually started feeling better at around 10am, that is until I had a client come in and she reeked of cigarette smoke, needless to say, that brought my headache back really bad. I am so sensitive to cigarette smoke. So after work, I stopped off at the pharmacy and picked up some Aleve, which seems to now be doing the trick, Advil did absolutely nothing for me. So another day, no exercise because of this. Hopefully it's completely gone by this evening so I can go for a jog/walk.

This morning I had a HUGE green smoothie..it made enough for 2 full glasses. Boy was I full. I used 3 cups of Organic spinach, Almond Breeze, Flax seeds and some frozen blueberries. Soo good :)

For the first time today I tried a Chobani yogurt, I Finally found a small organic store that carries it! soooooo good! I loved it! I'm definitely buying more :)

Right now I am making a turkey chili with Kidney beans and black beans :) I'll let you know how it turns out! I'll update later on my headache status :) xo

Vitamins :)

Ugh, what a day. I have had a headache all day :( It just wont seem to go away. I guess it's time to pop some Advil. I generally avoid painkillers or aspirin, but I think I may need them this time. I couldn't even exercise today because of this darn headache. Even after a 2 hour nap it was still there. I did manage to get to Whole Foods though. Got more than I needed ;) This time around I got 3 bags of Spinach! I go through it so fast. Tons of organic bananas, Hummus, Kale, Almond Butter, Wraps, Avocados, Coffee!!, Almond Breeze, Tons of Lara Bars (I already went through the box that I got at Costco!) and some Salmon Fillets, which I'm going to make tomorrow :)

I was in the Vitamin Aisle with my friend and I realized that I take absolutely no vitamins at all! I do get a lot of vitamins from the foods I eat, but I'm wondering if it is enough? Should I be taking a multi vitamin? I was at a loss, because there were so many different vitamins! I don't know what I should or shouldn't be taking. What vitamins do you all take if any? what would you recommend? Thanks!


Off to take some Advil and a bubble bath to relax. Here's to hoping that this awful headache goes away :(

Good Evening!

Wow, I just went to the POM website, and they now have POM Iced Coffee! The flavors are Chocolate, Iced Chai, Cafe Au Lait, and Caramel. I really want to try these! I hope they are in Canada soon! Maybe they have been out for awhile but this is my first time hearing about them. And look at these cute little bottles!

I love Iced coffee! I drink a lot of the POM juice and the other day I just tried the Tangerine flavor. It was so good! I love this stuff!

I've noticed that a lot of times when I get thirsty, like really thirsty, I crave carbonated drinks. I usually don't drink them, but I sure crave them, even more so than water. I used to drink a ton of diet coke. I haven't drank it in over a year but I sure do crave it a lot. It's very odd.

Today was miserable weather wise. Raining all day and very chilly. Yuck. I stayed indoors for the most part, did some cooking, I made an awesome chili, with tons of kidney beans and some leftover black beans that I had. Now I use meat in mine, lean ground turkey. I really want to make a vegetarian chili though. I just need to find a really good recipe for one. The chili was delicious, as was my homemade black bean burger last night. I prefer the homemade over the store bough most definitely!

This evening I was energetic and a little bored so I did level 2 and 3 of the 30 day shred. Now I'm really sore :( If it wasn't raining I would have for sure gone for a jog. Tomorrow is a shopping day, for lots of produce, again. I run out so fast! Spinach and bananas go so fast in my place. I was also thinking of trying cantaloupe in my green smoothie tomorrow. Hopefully it's good :) Off to relax and watch a movie now, going to watch Confessions of a shopoholic! Have a great night!! xo

I'm Back !!

Long delay in posts was because my Macbook was broken, it just wouldn't start up, and when it by chance did, it would die within 2 minutes! ugh, so frustrating. It's all fixed now though :) I seriously could not live without my computer. So this is kind of a beauty/food post. I got some messages in my inbox asking what kind of beauty products I use :) That's very exciting!! And I will tell you :)

For my hair..I use Pantene Shampoo..just plain old Pantene because it seems to wok best for my hair. After I use the Pantene shampoo, I use this Leave in Conditioner

For Foundation, I use kind of an expensive one, I didn't actually buy it myself, I got it with a gift certificate to Sephora, I seriously don't think I would ever pay $55 for a foundation myself. I don't really wear face powders, fo a blush this is what i have been using for over a year now and probably will be using it for the next 20 years! That's how much I love it. Benefits Thrrob. So that's my basics. I generally just use Drugstore brand mascara and I'm not too much of an eyeshadow girl. If I do wear it, it's MAC eyeshadow in a very light color.


Now onto the food. I have been trying really hard to find the perfect veggie burger. I have tried so many and they have mainly all been alright, but nothing amazing. So tomorrow night I am going to attempt to make a homemade black bean burger. I got the recipe from the Whole Foods website.


Serves 6

These easy-to-assemble burgers can be shaped ahead of time and cooked off when you’re ready to eat.
Ingredients

1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 egg
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or granules
Salt and pepper to taste
Hot sauce to taste
1 to 2 tablespoons olive or canola oil
6 whole wheat hamburger buns
6 green leaf lettuce leaves
2 tomatoes, sliced
1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced

Method

Put beans in a large bowl and mash well with a fork. Add egg, yellow onion, bread crumbs, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Mix well to combine then shape into 6 patties.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange patties in a single layer (working in batches, if needed) and cook, flipping once, until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes total. Transfer to buns, top with lettuce, tomatoes and red onions and serve.


I'll let you know how they turn out! I had 2 huge green smoothies today! I added ice cubes this time. They are even more delicious with the ice cubes. Tomorrow is another day at work :( Blah. I was thinking about pickin up some of that Amazing Grass superfood that everyone is talking about, so I can add it to my smoothies. Can anyone recommend a flavor? Good Afternoon!

Ugh, yesterday was such bad day. I woke up with the worst sinus headache ever. I had to go to work with it, around hour into my shift I had a massive nose bleed! Now I have never, ever had a nose bleed in my life, at least not that I can remember. It lasted about 10 mins. Oddly enough, after my nosebleed stopped, my headache went completely away! How weird is that?

I have today off of work, and it has been a lovely day so far :) I had an awesome green smoothie this morning with 2 cups of spinach and 1 cup of kale. also had a bowl of Kashi Go lean. Kashi does not have many of their products available in Canada :( No Kashi Heart to heart, no Kashi Cereal biscuits, no oatmeal, No Kashi U or kashi Honey Sunshine :( all which I want to try. We also don't have the Go Lean Chewy bars or any of the Kashi frozen foods :( Ahh, i want to try them all!


I had such a great workout this afternoon, I did level 3 of the 30 day shred and 40 mins on the treadmill. I'm going to do some core exercised tonight and maybe some weights :) On my way to the store now, I am, once again, out of spinach, Kale and bananas. Hope u all have a great day!!! xo
